Britain's biggest solar farm
The first consultation events for the proposed 890 acre solar farm in Whitstable run until December 8.
Developers behind the projects say they will generate enough electricity to power 110, 000 homes equivalent to the combined homes in Canterbury and Swale.
If the project goes ahead the panels will sit on farmland between Faversham and Whitstable but as the project has been earmarked as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project it will need to be signed off by the Secretary of the State.
The Cleve Hill Solar Park project is for energy-saving producing panels. Opponents of this scheme feel every new home should have a solar panel rather than taking up agricultural land.
