Updated Statutory Pay Rates for 2019-2020

The new statutory pay rates, which come into force in April 2019, have been published. Here is a summary for you to keep abreast of the changes.

 

National Minimum Wage

 

From 1 April 2019 the National Minimum Wage increases to the following:-

 

National Living Wage (per hour) Age 25+ :  £8.21

 

Standard Adult Rate (per hour) Age 21-24 :  £7.70

 

Development Rate (per hour) Age 18-20 : £6.15

 

Young Workers Rate (per hour) Age 16-17 :  £4.35

 

Apprentice Rate (per hour) :  £3.90

 

 

Statutory Maternity Pay and Statutory Adoption Pay

 

From 7 April 2019 Statutory Maternity Pay is payable as follows:-

 

The first six weeks is paid at 90% of the employee's normal weekly earnings.

 

The remaining 33 weeks, at either £148.68 per week or at 90% of normal weekly earnings, whichever is lower.

 

 

 

Statutory Paternity Pay

 

From 7 April 2019 Statutory Paternity Pay is payable for up to two weeks at £148.68 per week or 90% of normal weekly earnings, whichever is lower.

 

 

 

Shared Parental Pay

 

From 7 April 2019 Statutory Shared Parental Pay is payable at either £148.68 per week or at 90% of normal weekly earnings, whichever is lower, for the maximum 39 weeks.

 

 

Statutory Sick Pay:

 

From 6 April 2019 Statutory Sick Pay is payable at £94.35 per week.
