Summarise what your job is?

I am a legal secretary in the Tax and Estate Planning Department.  I predominantly work for Stephen Beck.  Daily, I take calls and help clients or take messages if required; arrange appointments; type dictations and manage the filing.  I also meet with clients in the office and occasionally attend home visits when required.

How do you get ready to start your day?

It’s a little crazy in the mornings. Once we are all ready, I walk my children to school and then drive to the office for usually my first cup of tea of the day!

What is your favourite part of the job?

Talking to clients. I enjoy client contact the most, whether it be over the telephone or in person. I enjoy being able to help people with questions and try and make what can be quite upsetting times a little easier.

What is the most challenging part of your job?

The diary! Managing diary appointments and making sure that everyone can be seen as soon as possible at a convenient time for them. It is also a very busy team so trying to get all the work complete within the days I am in the office can be quite a feat.

How do you relax when you finish work?

With two young children relaxing is not something that happens very often! We usually have a family dinner every evening and this is a nice way to complete the day as a family.
