Develop or lose your permission?
The Isle of Wight Council have just resolved to consider revoking planning permission where there is no visible activity on the site for two years.
Initial reports suggest that the Council may also step in where the land ownership has changed or if the developer has filed for bankruptcy.
It may be that the threat of revocation of the planning permission would be enough to encourage the developer to commence the development however it is a big step from commencement of development to completion and occupation of the properties.
It may be a question of, watch this space to see if any other councils see fit to follow suit.
