Robert Chawner

Topic: Cryptocurrencies in Wills and Succession Planning

Robert will focus on the practical and legal challenges faced when dealing with cryptocurrencies in Wills, Trusts and the Administration of Estates.

As digital wealth becomes more common, traditional approaches face new risks around security, access and ownership. The session will explore how to navigate these challenges and plan effectively for the succession of cryptocurrencies.

Robert has over seven years’ experience working on matters relating to Wills, Succession Planning and Estate Administration.

He has completed both his Level 3 and Level 6 Diplomas in Law and Practice and is now completing his qualifying experience to become a Chartered Legal Executive.

Stuart Chipperfield

Topic: Tax Implications for Cryptocurrency

Stuart will give an overview of the current tax landscape for individuals holding or trading cryptocurrency, including:

  • Tax implications of trading and mining cryptocurrencies
  • Staking, forking, airdrops and contractual payments
  • Inheritance Tax and cryptocurrencies

Stuart is a Chartered Tax Advisor and has been with MHA since 2013. Having started his career with HMRC, he brings valuable insight into ‘the other side of the fence’.

Stuart specialises in helping clients in the healthcare, legal and property sectors deal with their Income Tax, Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax issues, as well as advising on residence and domicile matters.
