I am the Head of Team for the family department across Whitehead Monckton’s four offices.
I started my career working for my father in his family law practice, then worked as a trainee solicitor at Boodle Hatfield in Oxford, qualifying in London in 2002, and moving to Blandy & Blandy in Reading and then Pannone in Manchester. I have a degree in Geography, and postgraduate conversion qualifications in in Law and Psychology. I am an experienced Collaborative Practitioner. I became a Director at Whitehead Monckton in July 2016.
I am a committed Resolution Member, having sat on the National Committee from 2013 to 2016, and former chair of the Training and Learning Committee and current Trustee of the John Cornwell Foundation. I am a national Resolution trainer of psychotherapists and family solicitors, working on the Family Consultant, Collaborative Foundation Training and Negotiation Skills courses to promote interdisciplinary working so that families are provided with lasting, meaningful solutions to family challenges which arise.
I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist in financial and children proceedings.
I am listed as a leading individual in Legal 500: ‘total professional commitment is exceptional and the quality of care is quite unique’.

What my clients say:
"I should like to take this opportunity to say how much your patience and kindness meant to me during times that were so difficult and often heart-breaking. You were a constant source of thoughtful and generous support and understanding."
"I would like to thank you for your professional outlook, understanding and help in both my marital and personal problems. I will look forward to your help in the near future with my divorce and further legal matters. Thank you."
"Thanks again for all our meetings and all your advice, you have been a true gentleman all the way through and you are a credit to your firm. The empathy you have shown not only to me but also to my ex-wife has been second to none."
'When we had our meeting, I knew that we had two strong, extremely capable and totally dedicated personalities doing their utmost to get a satisfactory conclusion to our situation. I can assure you Daniel that, with your continual positive and helpful approach to all matters, this has kept us upbeat and strong. It was a great pleasure to have been able to meet you and also Lucy Nevard, who offered such expertise and professional guidance too. We have been very fortunate in having you all 'on our team'."
"I just wanted you to know how very lucky I feel to have had you represent me over these months. It's enabled me to be as strong as I could knowing I had your expertise and immense insight supporting the process. Your professional commitment is exceptional and the quality of care is quite unique."
"Thank you once again for your help. It was invaluable in dealing with this matter quickly and efficiently".
"He is extremely approachable, friendly and supportive with his clients but simultaneously firm and forceful in the court process. He is thorough and has a sharp mind, he picked up issues in our first meeting that were overlooked by my previous solicitor for months. He understands the court process and was able to explain complicated issues to me in terms I could understand".
"I cannot fault anything done by Whitehead Monckton in my case and have nothing but praise for Daniel who is, in my opinion, an outstanding solicitor, an intelligent, conscientious, hardworking, caring employee and a man of great integrity. I cannot praise him highly enough and would recommend him to anyone in need of family law help."
"I was a client of the Tenterden branch of Whitehead Monckton. Daniel Bennett was my solicitor, he was absolutely outstanding. He was very kind and supportive to me, yet a strong, decisive and assertive advocate. His knowledge of the law and legal proceedings was invaluable. Without him I would have made several mistakes which would have cost me dearly. All the staff in the office are very kind an approachable and they ensure that you get the support/help you need even if your solicitor isn't available. I was previously with a less expensive firm but they cost more more in the long run as they were so inefficient, with Whitehead Monckton you really get value for money."
When out of the office:
I used to be a wreck diver but now I have children I enjoy watching films, cooking and being a Dad. I’ve completed the Manchester 10k for Cancer Research and the London to Brighton Bike Ride for the British Heart Foundation.
