I completed an LLB Hons degree in Law at the University of Exeter, followed by the Law Society Finals at The College of Law, Guildford. I then trained at Whitehead Monckton, qualifying as a solicitor in 1987 and becoming a Partner in the firm in 1994. I qualified as an accredited mediator in 1999 extended by the family mediation council to June 2021 (FMCA).I then became a Director when the firm incorporated to a Limited Company in April 2014. I completed training with Angela Lake-Carrol in June 2018 to delivery professional practice supervision as a PPC to other mediators.
I have been a contributor to discussions on family law issues on Radio Kent, in particular, the House of Lords 2018 Judgment in the case of Owens and the need for law reform.

Listed as a leading individual for Family law in Chambers for 2017 ("unflappable, sensible and doesn't rise to the bait," according to market commentators. She handles both financial matters and children work. Sources say: "Clients love her to bits; she's got good empathy with them, but she's pretty pragmatic. She really knows her family law.")
What my clients say:
"She is well versed in handling private children law, injunctions and cohabitte disputes"
"I trust Dawn. She is attentive and practical in her approach to achieving solutions. Her accessibility and personal style lead me to recommend her very highly".
"I like Dawn's friendly style. She works well for me".
"You have been exceptional in all the help and advice you have provided".
"Dawn has a down to earth and friendly style that works for me. She responds and acts promptly to fit in with my busy work schedule. Her attention to detail and quality of advice means I have no hesitation in recommending her service".
When out of the office:
I enjoy attending ballet and other dance genre classes for health and fitness. I love spending time with my family and friends. Trips to theatres and galleries plus walks and cycling in the Kent region and beyond keep me in touch with the pleasures that the arts and nature have to offer.
