Sarah Brissenden

Job Title:

Associate Solicitor

Services:

  • Family
  • Rural Business

Profile

I completed my LLB Hons in Law with Business at the University of Brighton, graduating in 2009. Following a year working as a Law Costs Draftsmen in Canterbury I studied the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford.

I then spent the following two years working at London law firms before commencing my training contract with Whitehead Monckton in the Tenterden office in September 2013. I qualified as a solicitor into the Family Department in September 2015. I trained as a collaborative lawyer in 2019.  I am now an Associate Solicitor in the Tenterden office.

I appreciate that issues arising from divorce and separation can be extremely difficult to navigate for clients. I take a personal, supportive and pragmatic approach and promote processes like mediation and collaboration when suitable. Since qualifying as a solicitor I have specialised in Family law, I enjoy the technicalities of the law itself but I really enjoy helping clients through a difficult time in their life and seeing them out the other side!

I have expertise in all areas of family law including:

  • Divorce
  • Financial matters
  • Children Act matters
  • Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
  • Cohabitation and Separation agreements

When out of the office:

I enjoy spending time with my family, socialising with friends and am kept busy by my two daughters! When I have the time I enjoy going to the gym  and I love to travel.
